Day 59
Kerala survived her first trip into the Loop on the EL. On Thursday, we all headed down with Tamra and Silas to meet our friends, JT and Jeff, for lunch. Kerala was great - she only fussed a bit when it was time for her to eat. On Friday we headed down to Bloomington for Kerala's first trip to Grandma's. Normally the drive takes us two and half hours, however, this one took us five hours because we realized we forgot the camera about a half hour into the trip, getting lost on side streets, road construction and an accident (not ours). Kerala had to stop a couple of times for eating and diaper changes, but otherwise slept most of the way. Kerala got to meet friends and family in Bloomington on Saturday and seemed to have an enjoyable time. She also got to hang out in Grandma's backyard and put her feet in some grass - something she doesn't get to do in the city. On Sunday we celebrated our first mother's day together - first at Troy's mom's and then at my mom's. The only unfortunate event was that when we got home from our weekend away we realized that our refrigerator had broken over the weekend - so today we ended up buying a new refrigerator, which will be delivered later this week. We also planted our flowers today. Tamra watched Kerala and Silas on the deck, while Troy and I planted the flowers.
